Colorado Animal Rescue, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) was incorporated in 1992 by local veterinarians. For nine years the rescue and placement of abandoned, stray and surrendered animals was done out of the homes of dedicated C.A.R.E. board members. Our shelter facility opened its doors in 2000. Since opening, C.A.R.E. has taken in and placed over 7,900 dogs, cats and exotics.

Kiwanis and KeyClub: Highway cleanupMembers of the Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club and Glenwood Springs High School Key Club gathered Saturday, Oct. 22, to work on highway cleanup. The group gathered trash between I-70 interchanges 114 and 116, and patrolled the bike path past the Hot Springs Spa and Pool toward Horseshoe Bend. Kiwanis cleans the highway twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
Promoting Safety
Life guarding at the Hot Springs Lodge and pool requires employees to be Red Cross first aid C.P.R. certified. Part of having Red Cross certification requires one to commit to using their skills when needed in any emergency situation, on or off the job, insuring more safety in our community.
